Illinois Holds On To Upset No. 22 Ohio St., 52-51

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Angelina Williams scored 15 points and Illinois held off No. 22 Ohio State 52-51 Thursday night.
Ohio State rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit and had the ball with six seconds to go, but failed to get off a final shot.
The Buckeyes (9-3, 1-1) lost their second in a row. They have won only once in five road games this season.
Aminata Yanni scored 12 points, Tiffanie Guthrie scored 10 and Cindy Dallas had nine points and 15 rebounds for the Illini (7-6, 1-1 Big Ten).
LaToya Turner led Ohio State's comeback from a 32-15 halftime deficit. She scored 11 of her 12 points in the second half, going 6-for-8 from the foul line.
Ohio State outscored Illinois 22-10 in the first eight minutes of the second half to close the gap to 42-37.
Yanni set the tone early with two fast-break layups in the first two minutes as the Illini scored the first seven points of the game. They had 22 fast-break points to only six for the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes struggled to get the ball inside in the first half, and when they did get into the paint they missed easy shots. Ohio State shot only 23 percent in the first half and 35 percent for the game.
Illinois took its first double-digit lead at 17-7 with 10:59 to go in the
first half. Ohio State cut the lead to six but Illinois outscored the Buckeyes
15-4 the rest of the half.
